Myofascial (MFR) & Trigger Point: A integrated modality for the relief and control of myofascial pain and dysfunction. Both adhesions in the fascia and trigger points have been reported to be the main cause of pain in 85% of people going to pain clinics. These issues can also mimic other conditions such as migraine and tension headache, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, TMJ, arthritis, bursitis, toothache, heart pain, and general unexplained chronic pain. Myofascial Release (MFR) involves gentle, sustained pressure on the connective tissues (fascia) that surround muscles, bones, and nerves. We apply systematic manual pressure point compression, myomassage, passive stretching to relieve myofascial pain. It helps to stretch and soften restricted fascia, reducing pain and restoring mobility. Additionally Trigger Point therapy is used to deactivate trigger points (commonly known as “knots”),that can cause local or eferred pain and other sensations in other parts of the body, reducing the swelling and stiffness, increasing range of motion and flexibility, relieve tension and improve circulation. Often these two theraptuic techniques can go together.
